NAVIGATING PERSONAL GROWTH WITH THE DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS

Location: Boca VI WELL-BEING

Maintaining a healthy equilibrium of well-being and wellness can be challenging. Physical health, while important, is

self.

colleagues in both personal and professional settings.

• Learning how to integrate the Dimensions in both his/her personal and professional life.
• Self-refection upon his/her work-life balance, personal happiness, and professional development
• Having a better understanding of the needs for the DOW in ones’ own life

TOWARDS LEADING ADAPTABLE COLLEGES:
LEADING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURES THAT LEARN

Location: Boca VII WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Presented by Brad Donaldson, Vice President Academic, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Calgary, AB

The ability to continually provide a responsive learning environment for their students in the face of internal and
external forces is an ongoing challenge for college leaders.

These challenges come in many forms; changing economics and funding, public accountability, student consumer-
ist behaviours, increasing competition for students and demographics to name a few.

Organizational adaption to successfully meet the challenges can be enabled through the creation and ongoing
fostering of a learning organization. Institutional cultures can signifcantly impact this ability to adapt. Leaders must
be cognizant of this in creating and leading a learning organization.

Through a case study example, attendees will beneft by increasing their understanding of:

• Organizational learning frameworks
• The infuence of organizational culture on adaptability
• Strategies to enable the emergence of a learning organization
• Organizational response to a shifting culture
• The leader’s role in making it happen
