Community colleges are striving to meet the needs of a diverse student population as well as engaging a more
than ever diverse workforce. We have a social responsibility to be inclusive, a mandate to graduate learners
prepared for a global market, and we ensure student success for ALL our learners regardless of their culture,
education and economic attainment, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, and any other attribute that may be
described as diverse. This workshop will share a framework with specifc examples of what Inclusion looks like
embedded across a post-secondary environment. The attendees will beneft by:


• Defning and refecting on what Inclusion means and how prevalent it can be in an institution.
• Looking at an exemplar model and framework for building and measuring Inclusion across your organization.
• Sharing ideas to begin a preliminary outline of action for your institution.

HOW TO LEAD ONLINE COURSE DEVELOPMENT

You just found out that your program is slotted to ofer an online course but you are not an online teaching expert.
How do you proceed? What do you do frst? How can you manage a course development and launch?

For many Academic Program Chairs, the increased demand for online and blended delivery options can seem
challenging. Research and resources for leaders responsible for the management and development of online
courses and resources are limited. This session will provide practical guidelines and recommendations that can be
implemented immediately in order to ensure your course development project is a successful one.

Drawing on their own experiences and expertise with online programming, Maroro and Tracy will:
• Provide participants with the opportunity to share their own experiences, questions, and concerns about online
course development
• Outline a method for selecting appropriate educational technologies required for course development and
delivery
• Provide strategies for determining both the implicit and the explicit costs of developing online courses and
Resources
• Provide strategies and guidelines for online course development that will translate to positive learning
experiences for their students
• Create a network on e-leaders
