PAMELA NORDSTROM

The Dean’s Advisory Group of the Faculty of Health, Community and Education at
Mount Royal University nominate Dr. Pamela Nordstrom for her exemplary leader-
ship as Chair, Director, Dean and soon to be Ambrose University’s Provost .
Pam exemplifes leadership with her high standards and vision, and by gently and
persuasively convincing others that the unknown path is the way forward. This
skill has led to development and implementation of several new programs and
accreditation processes. To work with Pam is to learn about your own potential.
She is practical and pragmatic, knowing when to move forward or pause for
additional refection. Above all, Pam is the “human” leader, caring and
compassionate with faculty, staf and students. People are at the center of her
leadership style.
CATHY NORTHROP
Assistant to the President, Tompkins Cortland Community College, Dryden, NY
Cathy Northrop has served as Assistant to the President and Clerk of the Board of
Trustees for more than two decades, modeling an unrivaled passion, empathy, and
commitment to students, colleagues, and the institution itself. She is a “go to” per-
son for everyone in the college, as well as for many colleagues across the local and
SUNY community college communities. Her steady support has been invaluable to
all of our Trustees, particularly the various board chairpersons,
Her leadership has extended beyond the college itself. She initiated and continues
development of a statewide organization for Community College Assistants to the
President, providing networking and professional development opportunities across
the system. She has voluntarily taken on leadership roles to support the NY Com-
munity College Trustees Association.
THERESA OSORIO
Assistant Dean for Student Involvement, Lynn University, Boca Raton, FL
Dr. Osorio has served the students at Lynn University for the past four years as
Assistant Dean for Student Involvement. Over this time, she has re-imagined the
developmental components of the student experience via creative and innovative
oferings. Given the intense collaboration required within her role, she has had
a positive infuence on not only students, but the University culture as well. She
consistently goes beyond the scope of her role to ensure students are aforded the
opportunity to grow and learn through their daily interactions with each other and
society. She displays consistent and efective leadership through role-modeling
and honest dialogue with her peers, colleagues and students. Her commitment to
student development is actualized through her work and she will continue to be a
strong advocate and agent of change in higher education for many years.
