Academic institutions and in particular academic leadership are being transformed by digital technologies. Internet
issues including Cyber-Ethics, Cyber-Law and Cyber-Morality present ever evolving challenges to leadership on all
levels. As a result of a digital educational policy vacuum, leaders are often left without clear direction. Cyber issues
can have local, national and international consequences and as such, a potential uniform policy needs to be
discussed and implemented. This presentation will explore the cyber-ethical, legal and moral issues and implications
of this ubiquitous technology for leaders which include social media, privacy, digital resources, streaming media
current laws and acts, security and costs.

The attendees will beneft by:
• Learning how to address cyber-ethical issues at their institution.
• Understanding the cyber-law and how it affects leaders and their interaction with students, faculty and
administration.
• Recognizing the leadership challenges created by an ever changing cyber world.
• Creating leadership strategies to address the various cyber-issues facing higher education.
• Serving as a cyber-conduit for the college community to better inform all about the advantages and dangers of
cyber-technology.
