Faculty Voices, a League for Innovation in the Community College initiative, is engaging community college faculty
in a national conversation about student success and completion. Faculty have largely been left out of the national
The Chair Academy’s 24th Annual International Leadership Conference
conversation on this important issue, and this initiative is using various methods to hear directly from faculty about
(a) effective contributions they and their institutions are making to student success and completion, and (b) faculty
concerns regarding the national focus on completion. This session focuses on early fndings from the initiative and
ways community college faculty can participate in the conversation.

Participants will beneft from this session by
• Reviewing the rationale for the project
• Understanding the scope and activities of the project
• Exploring the fndings of the project up to the time of the presentation
• Learning ways their institutions and faculty can participate in the project
• Providing input to the project

Large technology initiatives impact every member of an institution, providing opportunities for productive, yet
challenging, discussions on organizational culture, values, and readiness for change. This session will engage
participants in a multimedia case study on a successful implementation of web-based student evaluations of
teaching effectiveness, focusing on sensitivities and strategic solutions regarding campus business, governance,
communications, technology and support.
