location: Aspen wELL-bEIng TRACK

Presented by: Sarah Hyde, Chair of Education, Higher College of Technology Dubai Women’s College, Dubai,
United Arab Emirates; Joanne Rowe, Faculty General Studies, HCT Ras Al Khaimah Women’s College, Ras Al
Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

Teams that are highly motivated and positive are not only fun to be part of, but they also accomplish far more than
The Chair Academy’s 24th Annual International Leadership Conference
teams that are struggling with morale. Positive teams are led by positive leaders, though evidence suggests teams
and leadership are dynamic. Leadership can be shared; often based on processes, inputs and outcomes of the
team. This interactive seminar will guide participants through the presenters own transformational and shared
leadership journeys at the Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, exploring the process of
building upbeat, effective heterogeneous teams. Participants will be encouraged to contribute with their own shared
leadership stories.

Through lively active collaboration participants will:
• Gain strategies to build positive, happy, engaged teams
• Better understand the PERMA model in relation to positive team building
• Learn how to accentuate the positive and transform negative colleagues into positive contributors
• Improve methods to positively manage homogeneity and heterogeneity within a team
• Understand the shared leadership process of relationship building to maintain sustainability
