As higher education institutions evolve to be more than just a place for traditional classroom instruction,
organizations become increasingly complex. This makes implementing policy and programs that reach across
management channels a growing challenge.

Using the case study of the Everett Community College Internship Student Success initiative, participants will learn
about best practices including:

• Using stakeholder maps to ensure engagement in change initiatives
• The role of the champion in organizational change
• Leveraging organizational Strategic Plans to increase buy-in
• Selecting and Managing team members in cross-channel environments
• Effectively engaging industry in change initiatives.

Communication technology has impacted higher education throughout the world. For several years now, teachers at
all levels have been transmitting knowledge to their students through emails, blogs, wikis, and other
forms of technology.

This session is intended to solicit information relevant to teachers as leaders in today’s society, and as vehicles for
transforming classrooms to meet the needs of non-traditional students as well as students of diverse backgrounds
through the integration of technology in their courses.

Attendee will beneft and engage in discussion regarding:
• Understanding the role of technology in teaching non-traditional adult learners
• Integration of innovative technology in developmental reading and writing courses
• Designing assignments and activities with the use on technology
• Assess the impact of technology on student success
• Explore new trends in technology and how they are transforming the way students learn
